    Q:
How to service the Delphi CS130D (K43) 102 ampere alternator on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin servicing the delphi cs130d (K43) 102 ampere generator by disconnecting the battery ground (negative) cable followed by removing the engine compartment cross vehicle brace and the Drive Belt from the generator. First step to access the generator is moving aside the coolant recovery reservoir followed by removing bolts 1 2 3 while disconnecting wires and moving protective boot away from the generator's bat output terminal. To remove the generator start by disconnecting the battery (positive) lead from the generator after you remove the generator output bat terminal nut. Start by locating the generator near the engine before installing the battery (positive) lead and generator output bat terminal nut with torque at 20 n.m (15 lb ft). First place the protective boot on the generator output bat terminal and then add both electrical connectors before inserting the generator bolts and generator bolt through the generator slots. Start these bolts by hand before fully tightening them. Install the pivot bolt of the generator into its dedicated hole before beginning a manual start of the generator with your fingers. Tighten the generator bolts in the following mandatory torque sequence: the maintenance process requires technicians to first install the generator pivot bolt with 50 n.m (37 lb ft) torque before moving to generator bolt torque and finally generator bolt torque adjustment at 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Reinstallation steps include the coolant recovery reservoir and Drive Belt together with the engine compartment cross brace before reconnection of the negative Battery Cable.
