How to replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on 2001 Cadillac Catera?

A vehicle lift is needed at first when replacing the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). You need to disconnect the Vehicle Speed Sensor electrical connector before you break the Vehicle Speed Sensor bolt (46) and extract the Vehicle Speed Sensor (45) along with the seal (44) through hand rotation while pulling away from the sensor's body without applying any force to the sensor. During speed sensor replacement you should mount the seal (44) to the speed sensor (45) and install the Vehicle Speed Sensor to the transmission while following the fastener notice in service precautions. Tighten the attaching bolt (46) to 9 nm (78 inch lbs.) before reattaching the Vehicle Speed Sensor electrical connector and lowering the vehicle down.
