How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2001 Cadillac Catera?

To replace the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor allow enough time for the engine to cool to ensure reduced loss of the coolant or personal injury. Partial drain the coolant system, then remove the Intake Manifold. Unplug the wiring harness from the ect sensor and remove it from the site of the coolant bridge, wiping off any spilled coolant. Prior to installation, apply a non-hardening sealer to the threads of the sensor so there will be no coolant leaks using p/n 1050805 or equal. Strong everyone in the clamp ect sensor into the coolant bridge. Tighten it to 21 n.m (15 lb ft). Open the connector and check the cameras to ensure they don't have any damage. Reconnect the cable to the camera and test it to see if it works as expected.
