    A: To replace the wheel drive shaft inner joint and seal, you will need: j 35910 seal clamp tool (J 35910), earless seal clamp tool (J 35566), j 8059 snap ring pliers (J 8059). Start by evaluating the condition of the transmission sealing surface of the halfshaft for corrosion and if any is required cleaning it using 320 grit cloth. Seal retainer clamp must also by removed and thrown away from the halfshaft bar before using side cutters to remove a large seal retaining clamp from the tripot joint before throwing it. Carefully disengage the halshaud inboard seal from the trilobal tripot bushing and slide the seal off the joint. To access the trilobal tripot bushing in the housing of the tripot joint spider and the halfshaft bar, you need to remove the housing of the tripot joint spider and halfshaft bar after which you are to remove the trilobal tripot bushing from the housing. Use the j 8059 snap ring pliers to extend the spacer ring and slide it and the tripot joint spider back onto the halfshaft bar. Lower the half shaft bar retaining ring from the groove and slide the tripot joint spider assembly off the bar. Clean the tripot balls, needle rollers, housing and other parts using cleaning solvent to make sure all the old grease and contaminants are removed. Check the halfshaft inboard seal, tripot joint spider assembly, housing, trilobal tripot bushing, and needle rollers for damage and wear. Then fit the small seal retaining clamp onto the neck of the inboard seal without crimping, next use inboard seal on halfshaft bar and position it in the seal groove. Crimp the seal retaining clamp using j 35910 to 136 nm (100 ft. Lbs.) and verify the gap dimension. Mount the spacer ring to the halfshaft bar and move the spider assembly towards the spacer ring. Use j 8059 to position the second retaining ring end in the groove at the end of the bar and slide the spider assembly now to the body of the bar end and reposition the first spacer ring. Put half of the service kit's grease in the seal then finish up with the rest repacking the housing. Mount the trilobal tripot bushing to the housing, making sure it is flush, and locating the bigger new clamp onto the seal on the housing, then mounting the housing over the spider assembly. Make certain that the seal is in the right shape and place the joint combination at the appropriate vehicle dimension, line up the seal, housing and extensive clamping before fastening the seal preserving clamping using the j 35566.
