  A: First step to replace the Fuel Rail assembly includes reducing fuel system pressure. Use the spray type engine cleaner gm x-30a or an equivalent to clean the Fuel Rail assembly following the specific manufacturer instructions. First disconnect the Fuel Rail from its attachment to pipes 2 and 3 as well as the fuel pressure vacuum hose, and pcv components connected to the cam cover. Start by repositioning the coolant surging inlet pipe and then remove the Fuel Rail bracket nut while disconnecting Fuel Injector electrical connectors at each Fuel Injector port. You must first place the harness to the side before unscrewing the Fuel Rail attaching studs and finally taking out the Fuel Rail. The o-rings on the injector lower end must be discarded before installation.
