  A: Before servicing the Throttle Body remove the mass air flow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor electrical connector from the maf/iat sensor assembly while maintaining the maf sensor screen untainted to prevent airflow limitations which result in driveability issues. Check inside the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits while also opening the throttle valve for full examination. Any cleaning solution containing methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) should be avoided because it destroys fuel system components. Wipe the Throttle Body bore together with the throttle valve plate using gm top engine cleaner or carburetor cleaner by applying it onto a clean shop towel. When installing the components make sure the air cleaner assembly outlet fits with the maf sensor inlet duct to avoid erroneous airflow measurements that can initiate mil alerts and driveability faults. Mount the maf/iat sensor assembly before connecting its electrical connector to the maf/iat sensor through tight clamp installation at 3 n.m (27 lb in).
