To service the Throttle Body to start by removing the mass air flow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor electrical connector from the maf/iat sensor and then remove the maf/iat sensor assembly without damaging the maf sensor screen because it could reduce the flow of air and affect the performace of the drivline. Check the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits, throttle valve may need to be opened to check all surfaces, do not use any solvent containing methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) as it will destroy fuel system components. Clean the bore of the Throttle Body and throttle valve plate with a clean shop towel with the help of gm top engine cleaner or carburetor cleaner. For install, make sure you align the outlet of the air cleaner assembly with the inlet duct of the maf sensor to avoid improper airflow readings that trigger the mil or onboard driveability concerns. Mount the maf/iat sensor assembly and plug maf/iat sensor electrical connector back to maf/iat sensor while tightening maf/iat sensor clamps to 3n.m(27lb in).
