• Q: How to service the throttle body on 2000 Cadillac Eldorado?

  A: To service the Throttle Body, remove the maf/iat sensor electrical connector from the maf/iat sensor and also remove the maf/iat sensor assembly being careful not to injure the maf sensor screen which can cause the unit to be limited in its airflow ability and suffer from driveability problems. Check the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits, opening the throttle valve for inspection of all surfaces. Clean the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate with a clean shop towel with gm top engine cleaner or carburetor cleaner that does not contain methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) to avoid damaging parts in the fuel system. On installation, make certain that the outlet end of air cleaner assembly and the inlet duct of maf sensor are aligned properly not to activate the mil or create driveability problems due to incorrect air flow readings. Install the maf/iat sensor assembly and then connect the maf/itat sensor electrical connector to the maf/iat sensor, tightening the maf/iat sensor clamp(s)toa 4 n.m (35 lb in).
