• Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2002 Cadillac Eldorado?

  A: First, disengage the negative Battery Cable and drain the fuel system pressure to replace the throttle assembly assembly. Disconnect the mass air flow/intake air temperature (MAF/IAT) sensor electrical somewhere, loosening maf/iat sensor, air cleaner intake duct assembly, positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve fresh air tube. Remove the cruise control cable and accelerator cable from the accelerator controls cable bracket and remove both cables from the Throttle Body lever. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve electrical connector, from the iac valve and throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector, from the tp sensor. Take off the transaxle Shift Cable clip from the accelerator controls cable bracket and remove the Throttle Body bolts from the water crosser and pitch the plenum duct . Then, unbolt the accelerator controls cable bracket bolts and the bracket from the Throttle Body. For the purposes of installation, attach the new accelerator cable bracket and the Throttle Body by fixing it with bolts tightened to 12 as. (106 lb in). Place a brand new Throttle Body Gasket onto the Throttle Body before then installing the bolts between Throttle Body to water crossover and the new plenum duct, which should then be tightened to 12 n.m (106 lbpin). Reconnect the iac valve electrical connector to iac valve and tp sensor electrical connector to the tp sensor . Reattach the accelerator control cable and cruise control cable to the Throttle Body lever, the accelerator cable to the accelerator controls cable bracket, and the cruise control cable to the same bracket. Mount the transaxle Shift Cable clip and the maf/iat sensor electrical connector to the maf/iat sensor , and then reassemble the air cleaner intake duct assembly with clamps tightened to 3 n.m (27 lb in) and the pcv valve fresh air tube. Finally, connect the negative Battery Cable again and do tp sensor learn procedure, turn ignition switch to run/on for 1 min, lock/off for 15 s, and iac valve learn procedure, idling the engine for 15 s, turn ignition to lock/off for 15 seconds then restarting the engine to check for appropriate operating of the idle, the work is in the toyota factory service manual, technicians' tips & warning increases catek supply.
