Wipe the space around the reservoir cap to prepare your inspection of both parts for cuts, breaks, dents, and distortions. Replace any damaged components at this time. Insert a round-ended tool into the master cylinder reservoir to press the primary Piston down and free the Piston retainer before removing it with the Piston assembly from the cylinder housing. Use low pressure filtered air through the front port to push out the secondary Piston along with its seals while plugging both cylinder inlets and the back port. Thoroughly clean the master cylinder interior and exterior plus secondary Piston and return spring using denatured alcohol while scanning for harm through inspecting parts before replacing the master cylinder when problems are detected.
