How to replace the lower door hinge on 2001 Chevrolet Camaro?

A successful replacement of the lower door hinge starts by using a marker to identify both the door and hinge pillar locations of the lower hinge. Lovely door support requires the Engine Support Fixture (J28921-B). The Door Hinge Spring Compressor (J 36604) should function to remove the door hinge spring from the lower hinge position. Remove the bolts first from the lower hinge to the hinge pillar and then from the lower hinge to the door before taking off the lower door hinge. Place the hinge onto marked door positions before screwing the hinge-to-door bolts in proper sequence while tightening them to 30 N.m (22 lb ft). Secure the hinge position to the marks located on the hinge pillar before applying bolts sequentially while tightening them to reach 30 N.m (22 lb ft). After spring attachment to the lower hinge you need to take off the door support while verifying door alignment.
