How to replace the Brake Light Switch on 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier?

Begin work on replacing the stoplamp switch by taking off the driver sound insulator. Remove the electrical connections 5 and 6 then take out the brake switch by rotating the switch counterclockwise while pulling towards the back of the vehicle. Push the stop lamp switch fully into the retainer and then attach the electrical connector (5, 6). Reposition the stoplamp switch into place after putting back the driver's side sound insulator.
