How to replace the water pump on 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier?

Drain the cooling system before you start to remove the Water Pump by loosening strength bolts and taking off the accessory Drive Belt. After detaching the coolant pump bolts remove the pulley and then proceed to take out the coolant pump's own bolts. Clean both surfaces of the coolant pump and engine block before installing a new Water Pump. Install the coolant pump along with its new gasket while using gm p/n 12346004 pipe sealant or an alternative to coat bolt threads. Screw the new coolant pump bolts until they reach resistance at 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and put on the coolant pump pulley with bolts under 30 nm (22 ft. Lbs.) tension. Put in the accessory Drive Belt and fill your cooling system before starting the engine. Review for leaks after the engine begins running at its regular temperature.
