For 2.2l l61 engine Water Pump replacement you need the Water Pump holding tool (J 43651) plus other tools. Start your repair by taking off the Exhaust Manifold when working on automatic transmission vehicles and emptying the cooling system. Lift your car then start by taking off the wheel from the right front side and removing the fender liner. Install the Water Pump holding tool as indicated (J 43651) on the Water Pump sprocket and bolt it to the engine front cover using the access plate. Arrange tools and safety equipment before removing the Water Pump bolts in this exact order: first unfasten the sprocket attachment bolts, then take away the engine block tie, and lastly unfasten the front cover to pump tie. Disconnect the feed pipe from its connection to the Thermostat Housing but do not remove the two bolts holding the Water Pump to the engine block until removing the Water Pump entirely. Thread the Water Pump hub onto the stud to place the new pump over the sprocket before fastening it into position. Tighten the two bolts connecting the Water Pump to the engine block evenly until they reach 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs. Torquerealty. Secure the feed pipe to its place then install both engine front cover bolts. Tighten the assembly to 20 Nm (15 ft. Lbs.).
