2001 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the Body Control Module (BCM) on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Turn off the ignition first during BCM removal to shield internal parts from damage and keep away from all connector pins and soldered parts to avoid electrical discharges. Start by taking out the right-hand side front floor kick-up panel before lifting on the BCM's base mounting tab to free it from the bracket. Free the BCM from its bracket sliding slots and disconnect all its harness connectors before taking out the component from the vehicle. Keep the ignition off when connecting the harness connectors to the BCM. Set the BCM's upper bolts into the bracket's slots and push the lowest tab down into the bracket. Make it secure by snapping the BCM into position. Reinstall the RH front floor kick-up panel as the last step. The new or replacement BCM requires programming to match the current vehicle during installation by running BCM Programming/RPO Configuration.
