2001 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Washer Reservoir and pump on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Selectively remove the washer solvent reservoir attaching nuts and hose retention clamp from the frame rail stud for replacement. Begin by lifting the washer solvent reservoir out of its position in the wheelhouse before removing the fluid level sensor electrical connector and washer hose electrical connector and the Washer Pump electrical connector in sequence. Empty the washer solvent from the reservoir before removing it. Remove the Washer Pump and its seal alongside the sensor from inside the reservoir. The installation process begins with sensor placement into the washer solvent reservoir followed by pumping the washer components and seal into position. First mount the electrical connector and washer hose to the Washer Pump then attach the electrical connector to the fluid level sensor. Secure the washer solvent reservoir above frame rail studs then affix the hose retention clamp to the frame rail stud. Screw the washer solvent reservoir attaching nuts before tightening them to 7.5 n.m (66 lb in). Add washer solvent to complete the washer solvent reservoir.
