2001 Chevrolet Impala Motor And Transmission Mount Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the automatic Motor and Transmission Mount on 2001 Chevrolet Impala?
A: The automatic transmission mount replacement process starts by elevating and supporting the vehicle next by removing the left wheel tire assembly before you take off the left inner splash shield. Set a transmission jack under the transaxle before removing the transaxle mount upper nuts (Nuts) from the transaxle bracket. Carefully lift the transaxle assembly before removing the transaxle mount lower nuts (Nuts) from the frame and pulling the mount away from the frame. Begin by placing the transaxle mount onto the frame before torquing the transaxle mount lower nuts (Nuts) to 63 nm (46 ft. Lbs.). Lower the transaxle enough for the transaxle bracket's mount studs to engage before installing the transaxle mount upper nuts (Nuts) and tightening them to 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.). After removing the transmission jack install the left inner splash shield then reinstall the left wheel and tire assembly before lowering the vehicle.
