How to replace the wiper arm on 2001 Chevrolet Malibu?

Start by placing a marker or tape on the Wiper Blade position before you raise the hood and disconnect the washer hose. Uncover the wiper nut before taking off the nut. When rocking the Wiper Arm fails to free it from the Drive Shaft, applying a battery terminal puller will help with extraction. Pull the Wiper Arm towards you while side-to-side motions will break it free from the Drive Shaft before taking it off. Scrub the Drive Shaft knurls with a wire brush. Place the Wiper Arm opposite the windshield mark and position the Wiper Blade over it before attaching the Wiper Arm onto the Drive Shaft. Fasten the Drive Shaft nut while applying 25 n.m and 18 lb ft of torque to it. Connect the washer hose and put back the hood cover as you secure the nut with its cover. After removing the position mark or tape from the window clean the area with the wipers to test if the wipers work correctly.
