    Q:
How to replace the wiper arm on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to start by putting the Ignition Switch to accy mode while setting the Wiper Switch at pulse. Switch off the ignition once you move both wiper arms to innerwipe mode where they stop moving. Unplug the washer hose from the Wiper Arm before removing the protective cover and the Wiper Arm nut itself. Use the Wiper Arm puller tool part j 39822 to remove the Wiper Arm from its connection to the wiper transmission drive shaft. Afterwards, take off the Wiper Blade from the Wiper Arm. First attach the Wiper Blade to the Wiper Arm before inserting the Wiper Arm onto the wiper transmission drive shaft. To confirm the operation of the windshield wiper system position the ignition selector to accy and wiper toggle to pulse. When leaving the vehicle turn off the engine at the same time as putting the wipers in their stationary position. This alignment matches the park position. Mount the Wiper Arm onto the wiper transmission drive shaft with proper placements for both end positions: keep the driver side lh blade tip 47 mm (1.85 in) from the windshield base and position the passenger side rh Wiper Arm 90 mm (3.54 in) away. When measuring distance keep the tool straight as 90 degrees to Wiper Blade surface. After attaching all parts you need to install the Wiper Arm nut and keep it tight at 30 n.m. Next connect the wiper cover and reassemble the water hose to the Wiper Arm.

    Q:
How to service and repair the wiper arm on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before working on the Wiper Arm you need to mark where the blade rests on the windshield before lifting the hood and disconnecting the washer hose. Pull off the outer cover to reach the Wiper Arm nut. Disconnect the nut from its place. When Wiper Arm rocking fails to break the Drive Shaft bond, a battery terminal puller should be used to remove it. Shake the Wiper Arm to disconnect it from the Drive Shaft and brush off the Drive Shaft knurls using a wire brush. Line up the Wiper Arm over the position mark then install it onto the Drive Shaft. Place the Drive Shaft nut then fasten it to 25 n.m (18 lb ft) torque. Finally attach the washer hose cover and Drive Shaft nut. Lower the hood first then remove the windshield marker before testing the wiper operation.
