How to replace the Engine Mount Bracket on 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

The bracket replacement process begins by disconnecting the Battery Cable followed by throttle body duct removal along with struts then requires vehicle elevation during replacing. The next step of installation requires the removal of three-way catalytic converter pipe from the right Exhaust Manifold and right front wheel and tire and right engine splash shield. The procedure should start by uninstalling the bolts connecting the Engine Mount Bracket to the Oil Pan. Then attach the engine support adapters (J 28467-90A) together with engine support adapter leg set (J 36462-A) and universal engine support fixture (J 28467-B) to elevate the engine. Take off the Engine Mount Bracket from the engine mount by removing its upper nuts. The Engine Mount Bracket installation requires attachment to the engine mount while installing the engine mount upper nuts with 47 nm (35 ft. Lbs.) torque. To install the Engine Mount Bracket toward the Oil Pan use bracket-to-oil pan bolts that must be tightened to 58 nm (43 ft. Lbs.). After lowering the vehicle you should reinstall the right engine splash shield and right front wheel with tire while connecting the three-way catalytic converter pipe at the right Exhaust Manifold. Once done lower the vehicle to add the engine mount struts alongside the throttle body air inlet duct and a battery ground (negative) cable reinstallation.
