How to replace the rear brake calipers on a 35 Series on 2001 Chevrolet Suburban 1500?

The first step when replacing a 35 series rear brake caliper is to check the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir; drain fluid until it reaches the midway point if the fluid level exceeds that point. Relocate the vehicle with jack stands and disconnect the tire-wheels after that. Use a large c-clamp to apply pressure on top of the caliper housing and push the caliper piston toward the back until it seals fully. Insert a rubber cap or plug into the open fitting of the brake pipe to prevent fluid loss and contamination after cleaning the hose end. Unscrew and remove the brake hose to caliper bolt before detaching the hose. Get rid of both copper brake hose gaskets. Do not press the brake pedal after removing the bolts holding the caliper mounting bracket to the brake rotor to prevent damage from occurring. Unboltd the brake caliper assembly bracket unit to access the brake caliper mounting bolts and caliper from the bracket. Check all parts of the caliper assembly and take off the brake pads before inspecting the mounting bracket for any damage or fractures. Replace when required. Use a flat-bladed tool to separate the mounting bracket bushing from each flange and replace it with a new bushing by placing a socket over its boot. Install the brake pads onto the bracket first with anti-rattle clips. Then place the brake caliper over the mounting bracket as you fasten everything in place. Before tightening the mounting bolts clean them with brake parts cleaner while applying threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 or red loctite tm #272 then install the bolts into position. Install the mounting bracket and brake caliper parts in place and tighten the mounting bracket bolts to 300 nm and the brake caliper mounting bolts to 108 nm. Replace the rubber cap of the brake hose fitting and use new copper gaskets to seal the connection between the caliper and the brake hose. Fasten the inlet fitting bolt at 45 nm or 33 ft-lb torque. Pressurize the brake line system and reattach the tire before using the safety stands. Lower the vehicle back down then top off the brake fluid at its normal level.
