    Q:
How to Overhaul the Front Brake Calipers (25/3500 Series) on GMC Sierra 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Avoid putting fingers in front of the Piston during compressed air usage because damage can cause severe harm. Place a thin wood block in front of the Piston before taking off the brake caliper to safeguard it against harm. Airstream sends compressed air through the brake hose inlet hole to eliminate the Piston parts before extracting the Piston boot and seal. Refund the bleed screw cap and remove the caliper bleed screw using proper techniques. Check the caliper bore and Piston seal groove for abnormal damage because of corrosion; replace the brake caliper if found. Thoroughly inspect guide surfaces of the caliper bracket for wear and corrosion then replace it when needed. Clean every remaining material from both caliper and caliper bracket surface pads before using filtered compressed air to remove any cleaning fluid. Bleed air completely from both parts of the caliper and valve. Next install the brake caliper bleed screw and screw it to a torque value of 12 nm (106 inch lbs.). Finally, fit the bleed screw cap. Brush brake fluid along the new Piston seals and caliper bore seal grooves before inserting the seals into their designated slots without twisting them. Insert the brake fluid-lubricated Piston and its boot into the caliper. Place the boot fold towards the Piston bore opening of the brake caliper housing. Push the Piston down through the boot groove until it reaches bottom and tightly secures inside the bore. Rephrase this action for the other Piston before attaching the brake caliper.
