2001 Chevrolet Tracker EGR Tube Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the EGR Tube on 2001 Chevrolet Tracker?
A: Maintenance of the EGR Tube requires engineers to start by permitting engine temperature reduction before removing fasteners and fastener located at the egr pipe midpoint. First disconnect the EGR Valve fasteners at its edges then remove the upper and lower gaskets from the EGR Valve before finally disconnecting the egr pipe. Remove all remnants of gasket material from both sections where they touch. The egr pipe installation process requires you to place it on the Intake Manifold while using fresh upper and lower gaskets until both fasteners reach 15 n.m (11 lb ft) torque. The egr pipe must be fastened to the lower Intake Manifold through utilization of two fasteners that reach 10 n.m (88 lb in) of torque. The fastener must be installed on the egr pipe bracket before being tightened to 10 n.m (88 lb in). To finish the process begin the motor and examine for exhaust leakage before performing any required repairs.
