Chevrolet Tracker EGR Tube Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the EGR Tube on Chevrolet Tracker?
A: Service and repair of the EGR Tube requires waiting for the engine to reach room temperature. The service and repair of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe requires removing its fasteners from both ends and the central fastener blocking the pipe. The fasteners are removed first near the EGR Valve and then the upper gasket followed by the lower gasket must be removed. Next separate the egr pipe and eliminate all residue gasket material from the surfaces which will contact each other. The egr pipe installation requires positioning it on the Intake Manifold and using fresh upper and lower gaskets to complete the assembly. Secure the egr pipe to the upper Intake Manifold by using two fasteners which should be tightened to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). To install, fixation of the egr pipe must include two fasteners at the lower Intake Manifold area while maintaining a torque of 10 n.m (88 lb in). Fasten the egr pipe bracket with its corresponding fastener then tighten it to 10 n.m (88 lb in). Begin the engine operation then validate exhaust leak presence before implementing required fix-up procedures.
