  • Q: How to replace a water pump on 2001 Chevrolet Venture?
    A: First empty the cooling system until the Water Pump stays above the fluid line. First take out the drive belt guard then reliefs and takes off the Water Pump Pulley bolts plus the drive belt. Start by removing both Water Pump bolts before taking out the Water Pump Pulley and Water Pump itself along with its gasket. Prepare the mounting area of the Water Pump for assembly. Place the new gasket on top of the Water Pump before inserting the Water Pump with its bolts and tightening them to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Put the Water Pump Pulley back in place and bolt its mounting points loosely before fitting the drive belt. Screw the Water Pump Pulley bolts to 25 nm while checking for leaks after you add the cooling system fluid and put back the drive belt guard.
