Detach the bolts which secure the AIR shield before removing the shield from its place. The next task requires removing retaining bolts from both the steering linkage shield and shield. Begin by removing the AIR reactor pipe assembly bolts after you remove the assembly along with its gasket. The spring clamps can be released to disconnect the reactor pipe assembly from the reactor pipes only when you need to replace the check valve. The check valve should be detached from the reactor pipe through spring clamp loosening and pipe locknut rotation. For installation purposes connect the reactor pipe with the check valve by installing the spring clamp then tightening the pipe locknut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
