Clean the manifold mounting surface before adding the reactor pipe with a gasket followed by tightening reactor pipe assembly bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft) while the reactor pipe assembly retainer bolt requires 40 N.m (30 lb ft). Use spring clamps to reinstate the connection between the reactor pipes and the reactor pipe assembly. The AIR shield should be omitted during the installation process of 2WD vehicles but 4WD vehicles need to follow the installation procedure with AIR shield bolts torqued to 33 N.m and steering linkage shield bolts torqued to the same value.
