The servicing of the headlamp switch can begin by removing the left-side instrument panel access opening cover at its outboard rear angle through release of retainers using a plastic flat-bladed tool. You will remove the access opening cover by unfastening its front section from behind the hinge pillar. You must begin by unfastening the headlamp switch screws and proceed with gentle outboard push of the switch to reach the electrical connector for proper disconnection. Connect the electrical connector to the headlamp switch before inserting the switch into the i/p while aligning its tabs. Secure the switch with screws at 1.8 n.m (16 lb in). The left i/p access opening cover's forward edge must align behind the hinge pillar before its retainer slots can be placed into the i/p trim pad while using force to secure them in place.
