2002 Buick Century Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Turn Signal Switch on 2002 Buick Century?
A: The vehicle needs power cut and sir system deactivation before starting the switch replacement process. Uncover the steering column and Steering Wheel plates before you disconnect the wire straps from the steering column harness assembly. Take the multifunction switch assembly connector out of the steering column connector at the bulkhead by detaching it from the sir coil assembly connector. Use a screwdriver to remove screws from the multifunction switch assembly parts and take it out from the steering column. Locate the electrical contact with a flat-blade tool to push it flat before placing the multifunction switch carefully onto the steering column. Insert the electrical contact onto the turn signal canceling cam during this process. Secure the multifunction switch assembly screws to their mounting positions by tightening them to 7 nm (62 inch lbs.). Reassemble all multifunction switch assembly connectors by first inserting them into the steering column bulkhead unit and then plugging them into the sir coil assembly connector. Secure the wire harness assembly into the steering column wire harness straps while making sure the lever remains in the center or off position before restoring the steering column trim covers with the Steering Wheel. Turn on sir mode before joining the negative battery lead.
