The first step to replace the Evaporator hose assembly requires refrigerant recovery. Start by removing the a/c Evaporator tube to condenser bolt before detaching the a/c Evaporator tube from the condenser. Proceed with removing the a/c Evaporator tube to Evaporator nut and removing the a/c Evaporator tube from the Evaporator. The vehicle must first have the A/C Hose clip at the frame rail removed before the a/c Evaporator tube clips for extraction of the a/c Evaporator tube from the vehicle. Place the a/c Evaporator tube inside the vehicle prior to installing the a/c Evaporator tube clips. Install the Evaporator tube to Evaporator nut before tightening it to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). A replacement clip should be used when the original clip becomes damaged during the removal process. The Evaporator tube requires installation into the frame rail clip before securing the clip. Fasten the a/c Evaporator tube to the condenser through the a/c Evaporator tube to condenser bolt while tightening it to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). The last step includes a/c system recharge along with halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) testing for component fittings.
