• Q: How to replace the Air Suspension Compressor on 2002 Cadillac Eldorado?

  A: To replace the Air Suspension Compressor, lift and support the vehicle first, before disassembling it. Clean the components and the surrounding with the intention of noting dirt entering the elc system being between connection of any Air Hose or tube. Disconnect the air tube from air dryer, take off the air tube from the Air Suspension Compressor bracket, and pull the vehicle harness connector from Air Suspension Compressor connector. Then remove the intake Air Filter, pop off the 3 bolts holding the Air Suspension Compressor assembly to the vehicle and the 3 bolts from the bracket. After disconnecting the air dryer from the Air Suspension Compressor, disconnect the Air Hose at two points and remove the 2 screws and brackets from the Air Suspension Compressor. For the installation, fix the 2 brackets on the Air Suspension Compressor with 2 screws that are fastened to 7 nm (62 inch lbs) connect the Air Hose at two places attach the air dryer to the Air Suspension Compressor. Mount the Air Suspension Compressor assembly onto the bracket using 3 bolts with a maximum torque of 3 nm (26 inch lbs), and then mount it onto the vehicle using 3 bolts with a maximum torque of 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs). Replace the intake Air Filter, connect the air tube from the air dryer to the Air Suspension Compressor bracket and to the air tube. Lastly, attach the vehicle harness to Air Suspension Compressor connector. Before starting the car, turn the ignition to wait about 45 seconds so that the elc system completes the arc in order to fill the air adjustable struts with residual operation and then lower the vehicle.
