First install a 1/2 inch drive extension into the belt drive tensioner then push down on the extension to reduce tension. The Power Steering Pump Drive Belt needs to be removed first then gradually let the tensioner return to its starting point. During belt installation pass the belt through all pulleys with the exceptions of the Power Steering Pump and the Drive Belt tensioner . The Drive Belt tensioner needs a 1/2-inch drive extension for application. When the tensioner is pushed down, thread the belt through its wheel. The tensioning process completes once you properly seat the belt on all pulleys. Reposition the tensioner until reach its original spot to create tension on the Drive Belt. Check belt alignment and appropriate routing before starting the engine to examine accessory and belt operation.
