  A: Begin by draining a part of the cooling system before starting the heater core replacement process. Begin by draining coolant partially before removing the instrument panel compartment together with the right sound insulator and HVAC Control Processor. The technician disconnects both left air mix actuator and right air mix actuator components before taking out the heater core cover. The heater core requires three steps for removal: removal of heater inlet and outlet hoses from the core followed by removal of heater retaining screws then extraction of the heater core itself. You need to install the heater core onto the heater case using two screws where torque should reach 2 N.m or 18 lb in. Reattach both heater core inlet and outlet hoses before placing the heater core cover back in position while securing its screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in). The right air mix actuator and left air mix actuator need to be connected before reinstallation of the heater and HVAC control processor followed by the instrument panel compartment and right insulator panel.
