• Q: How to replace the Air Bag Clockspring in the steering wheel module on 2002 Cadillac Seville?

  A: First, disable the sir system, to replace the air bag clock spring. Eliminate the air bag clock spring and Steering Wheel nut, there is remarking of the Steering Shaft and wheel. Take out the steer wheel, bus the tilt lever and pull out, and after that take put the tilt lever assembly. Take two torx(R) head screws out of the lower shroud and remove the lower shroud. Then, extract two torx(R) head screws from the upper shroud and pull off the upper shroud. Remove the detaching wire harness straps from the Steering Wheel column wire harness, the retaining ring and then remove the air bag clock spring from the Steering Shaft. For installation, straightened wheels and align the block tooth, as well as the centering mark on the race and upper shaft assembly, to the 12 o'clock position. A new sir coil assembly will have a pre-centered assembly. And if centering is applicable, do follow the instructions from the notice of coil assembly. Mount the sir coil assembly to the horn tower on the turn signal cancel cam assembly, install the wave washer to the top of the shaft assembly, and slide the coil assembly on to the race and the upper shaft assembly. Carefully take out and remove the centering tab, inserting the retaining ring, making sure it is properly seated. Fix the upper shroud with two torx(R) head screws which must be tightened to 1.5 n.m (13 lb in). Mount the lower shroud and fasten it using two torx(R) head screws, making sure the tabs of the lower-shroud are plugged into the upper shroud, and screw them until they reach 1.5 n.m (13 lb in). Slide the tilt lever and align it to the steering column into position and locks it and feed the wiring through the Steering Wheel. Align the steering with the mark on the Steering Shaft and tighten it with the nut to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). Lastly, install air bag clock spring and allow the sir system.
