How to replace the Air Bag Clockspring in the steering wheel module on Cadillac Seville?

To remove the coil from the inflatable restraint steering wheel module, first disable the sir system and second remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel modules. Remove steering wheel nut recording the Steering Shaft and steering wheel alignment mark in order. After that, remove steering wheel off the shaft by holding and pulling the tilt lever straight outward, remove the tilt lever assembly. Then take out 2 screws with torx(R) head from the lower shroud and remove the lower shroud. And remove two torx(R) head screw from the upper shroud and remove the upper shroud. Unfasten the wire harness straps from the column on the steering wheel harness and take the retaining ring off and the air bag clock spring from the Steering Shaft. For installation, wheel should be straight ahead and align block tooth and centering mark on the race and upper shaft assembly at 12 o'clock. A new sir coil assembly will be pre centered. Check its centering and do what the notice says if the centering is necessary. Mount the sir coil assembly against the horn tower at the turn signal cancel cam assembly, mount wave washer to upper shaft assembly, then slide the coil assembly onto the race and upper shaft assembly. Take out and throw away the centering tab and then replace it with a retaining ring in the company of thoroughly seating it in place. Install upper shroud using two torx(R) head screws and tighten to 1.5 n.m (13 lb in). Install two torx (R) head screws to attach the lower shroud before the tabs make contact with the upper shroud, then tighten to 1.5 n.m (13 lb in). Reposition and slide the tilt lever out into the steering column until it clicks to lock it and then thread the wiring through the steering wheel. Position the steering wheel in line with the mark on the Steering Shaft and bolt it in place with a tight nut 41 n.m (30 lb ft). Finally, you should install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module and turn on the sir system.
