How to replace the hood latch on 2002 Cadillac Seville?

Opening the hood will start your replacement process by removing the upper filler panel. The support holding the Hood Latch requires removal of fasteners before you extract the Hood Latch from its position. Remove the Hood Latch from the hood release cable before detaching it from the Hood Latch. Install the hood release cable to the Hood Latch and place the Hood Latch into the Hood Latch support. The fasteners must be installed to attach the Hood Latch to the support before torquing them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Verify the Hood Latch alignment while slowly closing the hood and adjust as needed. For the last step install the upper filler panel followed by closing the hood.
