How to replace the Trunk Lock Cylinder on 2002 Cadillac Seville?

Insert the back up lamp into the rear compartment before starting the fix. Unnest the latch release cable from the lid lock cylinder then separate the fasteners that attach the lid lock cylinder to the rear compartment lid. You can then pull out the lid lock cylinder from the rear compartment area. Install the lid lock cylinder onto the rear compartment lid and fix the fasteners to the cylinder while tightening them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Plug the latch release wire into the lid lock cylinder and put back the back up lamp. Verify that the lock cylinder works correctly before putting the rear compartment in position.
