How to replace the rear liftgate hinge on 2002 Cadillac Seville?

Open the back compartment first to start replacing the back lid hinge. Remove both the rear shelf trim and torque rod pieces from the vehicle. Take out all fasteners first from the forward then the rear edge of the rear compartment lid hinge assembly. Position the new hinge onto place before installing the forward edge fasteners while turning them to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Next add the rear edge fasteners at the same torque tightness until locked in place. Put back the torque rods then place the rear compartment lid while setting the compartment alignment right. Reposition the rear panel shelf and press the rear compartment shutdown button.
