Open the rear compartment lid to start replacing the hinge. Unbolt both the rear shelf trim panel and torque rods before you move on. You can detach the rear compartment lid hinge by taking out its fasteners that connect to the forward and rear service points on the vehicle. Insert the replacing rear compartment lid hinge into position and secure it first at the forward edge through the fixing points then tighten them to 25 N.m (18 lb ft) and then proceed with the same process at the rear edge. Put the torque rods back in place then put the rear compartment lid and make necessary adjustments to the compartment. Afterwards place the rear shelf back and lower the rear compartment cover.
