How to replace the primary and secondary hood latch on Cadillac Seville?

Beginning the replacement of hood primary and secondary latch requires an initial step of opening the hood followed by upper filler panel removal. Start by removing all fasteners which join the Hood Latch to the Hood Latch support before taking out the Hood Latch from the support. You need to separate the hood release cable from the Hood Latch structure . The hood release cable should connect to the Hood Latch before you install both the Hood Latch to the Hood Latch support. Use the required fasteners to fix the Hood Latch onto the support then apply 9 n.m (80 lb in) of torque while tightening them. Lower the hood slowly while inspecting the Hood Latch for alignment correctness and perform adjustments as needed. Reinstall the upper filler panel before bringing down the hood.
