Start the replacement process of the hood primary latch cable by opening the hood then removing the Hood Latch. Secure a string around the Hood Cable for easier installation through the engine compartment. The front wheelhouse panel should be taken off followed by opening the three clips securing the Hood Cable to the car. Remove the two fasteners holding the hood handle to the vehicle then disconnect the Hood Cable from the handle. You need to tie a piece of string to the Hood Cable for installation through the passenger area before removing the Hood Cable grommet from the wheel opening and taking out the cable from the vehicle. Direct the string to both ends of the Hood Cable before leading them into the passenger compartment for installation. To install the Hood Cable begin by removing the string and attaching the cable to the hood handle. Secure the handle using both fasteners. Press the headlight hood grommet into the wheel opening while positioning it properly. Afterward pull the string and Hood Cable into the engine area then remove the string completely. Close the clips on the Hood Cable followed by reinstalling both the front wheel panel and Hood Latch before you can properly shut the hood.
