The technician should detach the vacuum hose and fuel return pipe from the Fuel Pressure Regulator assembly. The pressure regulator attachment screw must be removed. Check the filter screen of the pressure regulator before reinstalling it for use. Replace the filter if contamination is observed. The pressure regulator assembly should be removed together with its o-rings but keep the discarded o-rings separate. Add lubricating oil to the two fresh o-rings before installing them onto the pressure regulator unit.
