After the removal of the cable retaining clip you can detach the cable from its position on the push-in clip. First depress the cruise control tangs to push the cable through the cable bracket before removing the cable from the throttle cam. To install properly position the new cable through the cable bracket then push upward so the cable retainer tangs expand for proper seating. First install the cruise control cable after securing it within the push-in clip then attach the cable retaining clip and tighten it to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Insert the cable into the bulkhead before installing the throttle cable through the slot of the throttle pedal assembly so that it snaps into position. The routing of flexible components which include wires and hoses must maintain a 50 mm (2.0 in) clearance from moving parts of the throttle linkage except when positive control methods are used for the routing. End by testing how well the pedal moves the valve to WOT while looking for any damage on brackets or levers and checking the carpet fitting below the pedal in case the valve does not open fully.
