A new check valve demands a preliminary evaluation that includes attaching a Vacuum Pump to the check valve nipple (AIR pump side) and pumping it to 10 in hg until the gauge shows zero pressure within 5 seconds. This indicates the need for check valve replacement. To install the check valve mount it onto the air pipe while tightening it to 23 n.m (17 lb ft).
