    A: The replacement of the a/c high pressure switch demands removal of the engine cover followed by extracting refrigerant from the a/c system by using a j 43600 acr 2000 refrigerant station (J 43600). Newly clean the control switch region before unscrewing the snap ring followed by unplugging the electrical connector attached to the switch found in the compressor's rear head. The j 5403 snap ring pliers (J 5403) determines the switch snap ring removal which makes it possible to extract the switch from the compressor. The j 9553-01 o-ring remover (J 9553-01) should be used to obtain the old o-ring seal from the switch cavity before inspecting the cavity and o-ring groove for debris and cleaning as needed. The control switch installation requires new o-ring and retainer ring components from a fresh switch kit. Clean 525 viscosity refrigerant oil lubricates the new o-ring before its placement into the groove which exists within the switch cavity. Apply oil to the control switch housing before inserting it into the cavity until reaching the final position. Apply the j 5403 to place the switch snap ring in its special retaining groove. The j 39400-a halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) should be used to examine all a/c system fittings after evacuating and recharging the system and engine cover replacement.
