Replace the Camshaft retainer and the retainer bolts and removing the engine Camshaft by inserting three 5/16-18 inch x 4.0 inch bolts in the front holes and using them as a handle to rotate and pull the Camshaft away from the bearings and remove the bolts. Clean and inspect a Camshaft and bearings, and if installed a new Camshaft, change the engine oil and the Oil Filter adding gm engine oil supplement gm p/n 1052367 or the equivalent. Transfer clean motor oil gm p/n 12345610 or equivalent, or engine oil supplement gm p/n 1052367 or equivalent to the Camshaft lobes, bearing journals, and bearings. Install the engine Camshaft by using the three bolts as a handle and then remove the bolts. When reusing fasteners use thread lock gm p/n 12345382 or equivalent on the Camshaft retainer bolts, install the Camshaft retainer and bolts, tightening to 12 nm, (106 inch lbs.). Then, continue the installation of the balance shaft drive gear, timing chain, Camshaft sprocket, and valve lifters, consisting of the A/C Condenser, engine cooling fan, and Radiator. Refill the engine cooling system, recharge the air conditioning system, install the engine cover, and at last connect the battery negative cable.
