How to replace the rear crankshaft seal on 2002 Chevrolet Express 2500?

First, remove the Transmission Assembly and the engine Flywheel in order to replace the crankshaft rear oil seal. Pry the crankshaft rear oil seal out from its housing using an appropriate tool and discard the old seal while cleaning the area in the housing of any dirt or rust. Dribble around 2 to 3 drops of clean engine oil to bore of crankshaft rear oil seal housing, outside diameter of engine Flywheel pilot flange, outside diameter of Flywheel locator pin and Crankshaft Seal surface. Check the j35621-b rear main seal installer (J 35621-B) flange for scars and remove the scars using a fine-grade emery cloth. Do not let the seal lip surface come into contact with oil or lubricants. Remove the sleeve from the crankshaft rear oil seal and apply 2-3 drops of a clean engine oil on the outside of its diameter. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal on the j 35621-b and attach it to the rear of the crankshaft hand tightening the tool bolts until firm. Proper alignment is critical; the seal must be installed close to, and square to, the housing. Turn the j 35621-b wing nut clockwise to the seal is well seated, and should feel like it is getting tight at the base of the housing bore. Unscrew the tool via counter-clockwise rotation of the wing nut and pull out the j 35621-b from the crankshaft, wiping any extra engine oil of with a clean cloth. Lastly, install again the engine Flywheel and the Transmission Assembly.
