2002 Chevrolet Express 2500 Fuel Injector Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the fuel injector on 2002 Chevrolet Express 2500?
A: You must start Fuel Injector service and repair by unscrewing the fuel filler cap to reduce Fuel Tank vapor pressure and then removing three components including the engine cover, resonator, and air inlet duct from the Throttle Body. Start by disconnecting the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose together with the Intake Manifold connector and then remove the csfi fuel metering body electrical connector. Start by pulling the Spark Plug Wires from distribution cap cylinders 1, 3 and 5 then reduce fuel system pressure through removing the fuel pipes installed at the intake rear. First remove the fuel line bolt along with the nuts and clamp from the fuel pipe then position all fuel pipe o-rings washers and spacers correctly. Connect the j 44466-12 and j 44466-13 to the metering body before securing it and apply the j 44466-1 to the fuel pipe and secure it for use. Operate the j 41413 to shut down the tank valve while simultaneously removing the regulator assembly before you install the j 44466-10 to the j 41413 tank. Connect the hose j 44466-10 to the j 44466-12 while mounting the j 39021 with its accessories j 39021-210 and j 39021-301 to the metering body electrical connector. Set the amperage selector switch on the j 39021 to 0.5 amps. Open both valves on the tank and j 44466-10 to allow pressurization of the fuel system until it reaches at least 150 psi minimum. Fire the components with the j 39021 tool while interpreting pressure drop findings to validate the devices operate properly. At the conclusion of testing terminate the pressure valve function on the j 41413 device before relieving pressure at the j 44466-10 component and separating it from both the j 44466-12 and j 41413 system. The j 39021-301 and j 39021-210 together with the j 39021 must be removed from the metering body before reconnecting the vehicle electrical connector. Reinstall the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose and connector as well as the ignition wires and resonator alongside the air intake duct and secure the wing nut by hand. First follow these actions for the j38500-a: close the bottom valve on the canister while you add top engine cleaner gm p/n 12346535 into it then complete the canister with regular unleaded gasoline. Then suspend the j38500-a. Connect its hose to the j44466-12 service port while opening the lower valve of j38500-a and connect a shop air supply with a regulator set to 75 psi. After running the vehicle until the canister drains empty the shop air supply while depressurizing the j 38500-a device. Then disconnect the hose from j 44466-12 followed by removing the resonator together with the air inlet duct and ignition wires. Remove the j 44466-12 first before bleeder residual pressure from the j 44466-12. Continue by taking off the j 44466-13 and j 44466-12 from the metering body followed by the j 44466-1 from the fuel lines while maintaining proper placement of o-rings, washers, and spacers. Close the metering body by fitting the fuel pipe which needs clamp installation and nut tightening to 3 n.m (27 lb ft). Threadlock gm p/n 12345382 should be applied to the fuel pipe bolt before installation by tightening it to 6 n.m (53 lb ft). After installing the Brake Booster Vacuum Hose and connector the technician should replace the resonator and air inlet duct and engine cover and ignition wires. Complete each gallon of gasoline serving the Fuel Tank by adding one ounce of port Fuel Injector cleaner gn p/n 12345104 (or P/N 12345515 in Canada). Instruct the customer to fill the rest of the port Fuel Injector cleaner bottle at the next opportunity while contemplating fuel brand changes. Begin by tightening the Fuel Tank filler cap manually and proceed with starting the vehicle to search for fuel leaks then verify the status of stored powertrain dtc codes using a tech ii scan tool before clearing them when needed.
