How to replace the rear parking brake cable on 2002 Chevrolet Express 2500?

A replacement of the rear park brake cable begins with finishing the lever pin up process while loosening the cable at the cable adjuster. Before extracting the rear cable from the vehicle users must first unlink the front cable from the rear cables then disengage the brake shoes from the backing plate followed by disconnecting the cable from the backing plate retainer. To start installation you must install the rear cable to the vehicle before connecting it to the backing plate retainer. According to the installation process you must first attach the rear brakes to the backing plate while connecting the front cable with the rear cables. Detach the pin from the lever assembly while positioning the lever mechanism to its uppermost point. The threads on the equalizer must be measured and adjusted to 13 mm (0.511 inch) length for passenger/cargo vehicles or to 21 mm (0.826 inch) for cutaway/upfitters. Check that the vehicle maintains its position while under brake lever pressure before performing any extra modifications.
