    Q:
How to service and repair the parking brake cable on the rear on Chevrolet Express 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin service and repair work of the rear Parking Brake Cable with an initial step of finishing the lever pin up process after enabling the park brake automatic adjuster. First disconnect the front cable from the rear cables while loosening the cable at the cable adjuster. Proceed with the rear brake shoes from the backing plate after removing them from the backing plate retainer before you pull out the rear cable from the vehicle. The installation process starts with attaching the rear cable to the vehicle while fastening it to the backing plate retainer. Proceed by joining the rear brake shoes to their positions on the backing plate while connecting the front cable with the rear cables. Press the trigger pin out of the lever before positioning the lever completely upward. Check the threads of the equalizer then adjust them according to these values: passenger/cargo will be set to 13 mm (0.51-1 inch) and cutaway/upfitters will require 21 mm (0.826 inch). As a final step check to see if the vehicle maintains its position when you depress the brake lever. Additional adjustments should be handled through consulting the park brake cable service/adjustment.
